A ground up rust free build complete with everything you could ever wish in a Mini. Fitted with a custom tuned B18C Vtec Type R and the premium Syncrotec 4.3 ratio 5 speed transmission this is about as awesome as it gets.
This is a fine example of a well appointed car, from start to finish only the best parts were used. Fitted with an incredibly powerful B16B Type R Honda engine matched to a custom gear ratio Syncrotec 5speed transmission. This car started with a meager 60hp 998cc mini motor and jumped all the way to nearly 200hp. The tall gear ratio Syncrotec transmission offers the perfect freeway gearing experience for everyday driving as well as long distance road trips.
What began as a simple woodie restoration quickly morphed into a sophisticated and ambitious project. Peggy and Bob found us through Michael Louis the owner of Miniguy.com over a year ago. Bob said he wanted the best woodie ever for his lovely wife and it needed to be reliable and have an automatic transmission. That dint seem like a tall order but it proved to be quite a handful to create. We actually built two cars trying to accomplish the request, but the other turned out to be the donor car for our next woodie. After encountering every problem in the book, painting it 3 times, replacing 3 Motors, and three transmissions, along with countless other roadblocks it finally came to fruition this past month just in time for the annual woodie show in San Clamente. In the end the final product came out quite well and we are all proud of her.
This is a great example of a well appointed Mini. With over 130hp and performance suspension this car really has that little extra that brings a smile to your face. We recommend the D series drivetrain option to budget builders as well as performance enthusiasts due to the power potential of the D15. The gear ratio on the D series motors is much taller and doesn't require the syncretic custom gearing so the final build cost is several thousand dollars less. The motor can easily be upgraded to produce lots more power with minor upgrades as well. As you can see in the pictures we attempted to install a turbo under the unextended hood.
This car originally had a stout 1275cc motor with performance everything! The Honda B16 motor was a much needed replacement in both the reliability and power categories. The owner Mark regularly enjoys driving it up in the bay area.
The Mini that started it all. One of our earliest builds has recently been refreshed with the more recent suspension and a healthy B16 motor. Contact us for a test drive when you are considering visiting the area.
A favorite at the shop for some time is now at home to its new owner in Nevada.
This recently painted early Mk1 is going to be our next Midi conversion. We will be fitting her with a supercharged K20 Type R motor and our full Rally package.
If you are looking for a ridiculously fun Mini look no further. The rear motor known as the Midi turns the fun little mini into a corvette beating monster! Check out the video!
When Eric approached us to transform his 70s Mk3 Mini into a Radical 4x4 turbo Vtec we were excited to say the least. Some Minis such as this one can have quite a lot of hidden rust which takes majority of our time to mend. In the end we were able to add extra rigidity in the process which is recommended for something with such a great deal of power. Here are a few pictures of the build.
When you can't quite afford the real deal you do the next best thing! This 1275 powered classic Mk1 mini Cooper now lives in NYC, a bit closer to home. This is a handsome homage to the original rally car that we are proud to display.
This was a complete ground up restoration that is now quite literally the most bad ass A series mini we have built.
Keeping true to its roots this mini sports the original 850 and 10" steel wheels. You can see it driving around town when you are visiting Santa Barbara.
This is one of the best driving, and coolest minis made and not just because it has A/C! With a fresh paint job and a recent tune this car is perfect for a daily driver or just for fun. I might throw some sportspack arches on it soon, so keep checking in for updates.
